  • State: Assam

The Kaziranga National Park has been the pride of Assam and definitely one of the highest tourist-pullers to the state. Home to one of the highest number of animals and birds, this UNESCO Heritage Site, Kaziranga contains significant breeding populations of 35 mammalian species, of which 15 are endangered. The Park has the distinction of being home to the world's largest population of the Indian Rhinoceros (2,401), wild water buffalo (1,666) and eastern swamp deer (468). Significant populations of large herbivores include Indian elephants (1,940), gaur (1300) and sambar (58). Small herbivores include the chital, Indian muntjac, Indian boar and Indian hog deer. Kaziranga has the largest population of the Wild water buffalo anywhere accounting for about 57% of the world population. The Indian rhinoceros, royal Bengal tiger, Asian elephant, wild water buffalo and swamp deer are collectively known as 'Big Five' of Kaziranga.

Our itinerary of Kaziranga includes not only the wildlife, but we also attempt to take our guests through a wholesome experience of Assam - the hospitality and culture of the people of Assam, the traditional food and their everyday life. We walk inside the magnificent tea gardens and explore how the world's best tea is made. We visit the local tribal villages nearby to interact with the villagers, try out their local cuisines, enjoy their music and dance to the local tunes. We visit an Orchidarium to check out the hundreds of different types of Orchids found in the North East region. We go birdwatching. We go trekking to lovely locations. We spend out evening in the kitchen together and share stories and experiences, and learn how the traditional Assamese food is prepared. And as for wildlife, there are four different forest ranges to explore.

In short, you will just hate to leave!

Activities include:

Elephant Safaris, Jeep safaris, Bird-watching, Traditional food, Orchid viewing, Trekking, Village walks, Tea Garden visits and many more.

Suggested itinerary would be for 3 nights and 4 days, with safaris on different ranges.
